Jewellery care

To keep your jewellery looking its best, polish using a soft cloth or gently buff. Avoid coming into contact with water, perfume, lotions, hairsprays and detergents as this may cause your jewellery to tarnish. Most of our jewellery is costume jewellery and is not designed to be worn constantly, therefore, we recommend you don’t wear it to bed or in the shower.

Sterling Silver 925 Jewellery

Sterling Silver is a precious metal that will naturally tarnish over time. This darkening of the metal is not related to its quality, it is a natural reaction of the metal to the oxygen in the air that can be removed by cleaning your jewellery. To slow down the tarnishing, we recommend that your jewellery is stored in a container (ideally a lined box or soft pouch) and away from direct sunlight. To remove the tarnished layer, we suggest that you polish your jewellery with a soft cloth periodically.

Stainless Steel Jewellery

Stainless steel jewellery is made of a steel alloy that contains chromium. The good thing about stainless steel is that it does not corrode or rust. Although stainless steel jewellery doesn’t tarnish or corrode and doesn’t require special care, it can scratch. To avoid damage store jewellery in individual boxes or cloth pouches eliminating contact with other items/metals.

Rose Gold Plated and 18K Gold Plated Jewellery

All of our plated jewellery is made from high quality 18 karat gold plating. Gold plated items may tarnish over time but the darkening of the metal is not related to its quality. It is a natural reaction of the metal to the oxygen in the air that can be removed by cleaning your jewellery. We recommend you to treat your jewellery with care and attention. We advise you to remove your jewellery before going to bed, showering, doing housework or swimming and keep it in a jewellery box; avoid direct exposure to some chemicals (solvent, hair spray, perfumes) and high temperatures. We suggest that you polish your jewellery with a soft cloth periodically.
